Asli Carkoglu


Asli Çarkoğlu, Ph.D received her bachelor's degree (B.A) in Psychology from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, her master's (M.S.) and doctoral degrees in Family Studies from Purdue University, USA. Her dissertation focused on dyadic coping processes of couples with Type II Diabetes. Upon receiving her degree, she was a post-doctoral fellow in medical anthropology at the University of Arizona with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Since 2003, she has worked on various tobacco control projects collaborating with the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the Institute for Global Tobacco Control (IGTC). Dr. Carkoglu is the country PI for Quit Tobacco International- Turkey. She is currently a faculty member at Kadir Has University, Department of Psychology, Istanbul. Her current research interests include smoking cessation counselling, tobacco control policies, Diabetes and the family..
